Forget the 4 Ps, now it's all about the 4 E's
I love David Meerman-Scott's conversion of the old school of marketing's 4 Ps to the new rules 4 Es:
Place goes to Everywhere. No longer can you afford to choose one medium and expect to capture your target market. You need to implement a true integrated campaign across all mediums including online, social media and networking.
Price to go Exchange. It's all about ensuring that you provide value in every exchange with your customers.
Promotion moves to Evangelism. No longer is it enough to run a promotion and hope you customers respond. You must be out there evangelising your brand beyond a simple promotion.
Product becomes Experience. Consumers are fickle. No longer are the loyal to one brand. It is all about the last experience they had. You must appeal to all their senses, so they remember the experience of the brand not just the product.
